  • No prior experience is necessary. ‘Being’ is designed to be accessible to everyone, whether you’re new to yoga and meditation or have an existing practice. All movements are gentle and guided, and you are encouraged to move at your own pace.

  • Sound baths and yoga practices are generally gentle, but may not be suitable for individuals who experience psychosis/hallucinations, sensory sensitivities or certain medical conditions such as pregnancy, having a pacemaker, or severe respiratory issues. Please speak with your healthcare professional if you’re unsure, and let us know of any health concerns so we can help support you safely.

  • Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move and stretch with ease. Mats, pillows, bolsters, eye pillows, and blankets are provided for your use. We kindly ask that you wear socks, ideally with grip, for both comfort and hygiene during the session. You may also wish to bring a water bottle.

Sessions are held in our beautiful Illume Studio: A thoughtfully designed space created to nurture calm and comfort.

The studio is softly curtained, offering privacy and a gentle, cocoon-like atmosphere. Rather than traditional yoga mats, you'll rest on deeply padded mats akin to a shikibuton (Japanese-style mattress). Comfortable blankets, bolsters, and eye pillows are provided to support your experience, ensuring you feel warm, safe, and held throughout the session.

From the soothing ambience to the carefully chosen details, Illume Studio offers a tranquil haven where you can slow down, turn inward, and be present with yourself.

Integrating the wisdom of ancient cultures with contemporary psychotherapy, ‘Being’ begins with breathwork and meditation, followed by mindful yin yoga, and naturally flows into sound healing.

This session is both immersive and meditative, grounded in intuitive understanding and embodied experience. Through sensing, feeling, observing, and knowing, you become open to the basic experience of being alive and, more deeply, the psychological world of lived experience.

‘Being’ can be a standalone therapeutic encounter for restoration and nourishment. You may attend with the intention of deep rest and relaxation, moving through gentle postures to release physical tension, stimulate energy flow, and enter quiet stillness.

Equally, the session can form part of a deeper therapeutic process. It serves as an invitation to witness your own mind, to explore how you relate to your thoughts, emotions, and inner narratives; to discover unmetabolised emotions that bind you; and to illuminate your experiences through deeper emotional and psychological understanding. It offers a path to developing a nurturing relationship with your own mind, one that no longer repeats past trauma and allows you to feel safe within yourself and to trust your mind.

Healing often requires the presence of a relational process. The insights and experiences from ‘Being’ can be further developed and integrated through mindful dialogue with a therapist, who can help you explore, understand, and make meaning of your experience within the safety of a therapeutic relationship.

‘Being’ is an invitation to discover deeper levels of truth and authentic being within ourselves, to be present to the simple experience of being alive, and to nurture healing through the quality and depth of our relationship with our own experience.
