Recovery can take place only within the context of relationships; it cannot occur in isolation.

Nurtured Minds

Relational Group Therapy

Group therapy offers a unique relational setting and shared therapeutic space in which patterns of relating, thoughts, and emotional responses can become more visible in the here and now, making them available to be thoughtfully explored and worked through with others.

The group provides a supportive therapeutic community in which meaningful engagement with others may reduce feelings of isolation and create opportunities for new and transformative relational experiences that contribute to psychological and interpersonal development.

Participants

The group has a specific emotional and relational focus and is particularly suited to those experiencing:

  • Emotional instability and mood disturbance

  • Anxiety

  • Social anxiety, self consciousness, or discomfort in social situations

  • Complex trauma

  • Relational difficulties and recurring interpersonal problems

  • Feelings of isolation, loneliness, or disconnection from others

Through engagement within the group, there is opportunity for psychological and interpersonal growth, including improved emotional wellbeing, greater interpersonal effectiveness, and the development of a more cohesive and positive sense of self.

Facilitator

The group is facilitated by Dr Poppy Edwards, Clinical & Forensic Psychologist and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist.
