Psychologists in South Melbourne
Illume Psychology is a boutique psychology practice in South Melbourne working with adults, adolescents and couples. Meaningful psychological change happens in relationship, and we are committed to providing therapy within a nurturing therapeutic space that empowers recovery, growth and sustained change.
We are located at Level 3, 18 Thomson Street, and support the mental health of our community across South Melbourne, Southbank, Port Melbourne, Albert Park, Middle Park, South Yarra, Prahran, Docklands and the Melbourne CBD.
How we work
We recognise that entering into therapy is a commitment made between both the therapist and patient, which is acknowledged by reserving a regular appointment time.
It takes time to nurture and grow the kind of deep connection that allows the complexity of life’s concerns and inner troubles to be understood and thoughtfully attended to with genuine care, proficiency and sensitivity.
Through an ongoing therapeutic conversation, we develop a deeper understanding of the relationship you have with yourself, others and the world, making discoveries to bring about meaningful psychological change.

What you might like to know
-
Sessions are 50 minutes in duration. An initial consultation is scheduled to assess your needs, develop an early understanding of the concerns that have brought you to therapy, and consider how we may work together. Once therapy begins, a regular session time is reserved for you by mutual agreement. Group therapy sessions are 90 minutes and can take place alongside individual therapy.
-
A 50 minute consultation is $260. A reduced fee may be offered in certain circumstances, and a $20 surcharge applies to after hours, weekend and public holiday appointments. A Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician entitles you to Medicare rebates for up to 10 sessions per calendar year, and an Eating Disorder Treatment Plan for up to 40 sessions over 12 months. Additional rebates may be available through private health insurers. Couple therapy is not eligible for Medicare rebates.

Booking online offers the most immediate access to appointment times, either from the appointments page or directly from a psychologist’s profile on our team pages. You are also welcome to send an enquiry, text, or call us on 0412 803 277.
